The polygonal brick wall facade with its bay window
ribbons connects classrooms accessed from the
atrium. Three tracks of continuous, slender light
profiles follow the facade contours, providing uniform
illumination. From the outside they appear as
staggered outlines. Where they change direction, the
light trails have seamlessly illuminated mitre joints.
The training kitchens adjacent to the classrooms have
similar linear lighting, but in four tracks, interrupted
by extraction hoods. Miniature LED ribbons under
the wall units, prevent users from casting their
own shadows on the task in hand. The concept
of tracing the facade with luminous lines continues
in the gym, but in addition, the use of ball-proof

accommodates a movable partition wall.
The cafeteria on the ground floor has rich, dark wood
cladding which ends near the windows, where the
lighter-coloured ceiling is fitted with downlights
with a flush trim ring. The cafeteria tables are under
concentrated light from adjustable downlights that
compensate for the ceiling slope.
The semi-secluded open learning zones in the atrium’s
galleries have multifunctional furniture whose layout
coordinates with recessed luminaires in the ceiling.
In the library, the shelf lighting designed by the
interior design office Keggenhoff is integrated with
the furniture. Vertical light lines add rhythm to the ▼
