light throughout the centre in anticipation of the time
when paper is completely replaced by touchscreens.
Zumtobel proposed its Supersystem II track and
spotlight system, using an oval-outline film with a
very narrow distribution to gently illuminate the
concave-shaped ceiling. Where the foyer lighting
creates a transition into the old palace, the former
kitchen has soft, uniform light from small, industrial,
high-bay LED luminaires installed as direct uplights
to illuminate the vaulted ceiling with minimal
shadowing. In the corridors it used a special version
of the frameless Panos evolution LED recessed
downlight with a concrete inlay. This is designed
to achieve a clean transition between the luminaire
and the ceiling by integrating the plaster ring into
its concrete housing.
